Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking an Operations Analytical Senior Analyst (Individual Contributor) to join our team. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Analytical Insights and is open to fully remote candidates across the U.S.
The position plays a key role in analyzing case volumes, call volumes, staff productivity, and resource planning‑critical elements for driving operational efficiency and supporting our business partners and members.
As an internal analytics expert, you will provide insights for Clinical Operations (ClinOps) and support Prior Authorizations and Performance Productivity Reporting business functions. The role involves working with tools such as Python, Dataiku, Alteryx, Tableau, GCP, SSIS, SSRS, Teradata, and other analytical platforms. You will serve as the technical subject matter expert for automating data reporting from multiple sources, including Novologix, CAS, MedHok, MTM, SQM, phone systems, and Verint.
You will also leverage statistical modeling, forecasting techniques, and advanced analytical methods to identify trends, predict operational needs, and help drive data‑informed business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Automating manual data processes.
Migrating applications to modern technologies.
Preparing data for Tableau dashboards that deliver prior authorization insights and exception reporting.
Conducting exploratory data analysis and applying statistical and predictive modeling techniques to identify trends, forecast volumes, and support workforce planning.
Build and validate data pipelines and machine learning workflows using Python, Dataiku, and cloud‑based tools.
You will collaborate with operations teams to understand business needs and develop logic and metrics for Tableau KPIs, ensuring accurate and actionable reporting.
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, and database development.
Strong knowledge of database technologies including PL/SQL, T‑SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Hands‑on experience creating SQL queries, packages, functions, and views for ad‑hoc and recurring reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Advanced skills in ETL and reporting tools such as SSIS, SSRS, Alteryx; exposure to Dataiku is a plus.
Working knowledge of multiple RDBMS platforms (Oracle, Teradata) and complex SQL report development.
Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including SQL Server on GCP.
Understanding of database design principles, logical and physical data models.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Experience applying statistical methods (e.g., regression, clustering, forecasting) to operational or business datasets.
Ability to build and evaluate predictive models or machine learning workflows using Python libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, statsmodels, or NumPy.
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and documentation best practices.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess business impacts and prioritize tasks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Agile mindset with a focus on delivering incremental value and incorporating feedback quickly.
Ability to learn new domains and data sources rapidly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GCP/BigQuery.
Experience with machine learning model deployment, monitoring, or MLOps pipelines.
Familiarity with visualization best practices and dashboard storytelling for data science insights.
Ability to enforce best practices.
Prior experience in PBM services, insurance, or healthcare.
Strong presentation skills and experience engaging with business stakeholders.
